FACT SHEET

 

Congratulations on being selected to compete in the Local Qualifier for the 117th U.S. Amateur Championship.

 

SCHEDULE: The local qualifier is scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2017 at Bakker Crossing Golf Course located at 47172 Clubhouse Road in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Bakker Crossing GC is located three miles south of Interstate 229 on Louise Avenue. The rain date is July 18, 2017.

 

STARTING TIMES: Please note your starting time on the enclosed pairing sheet and schedule yourself to arrive at least an hour before your starting time to allow proper time to register and prepare for the event.

 

FORMAT: This is a local qualifier and is a 36-hole stroke-play competition. This site has a field of 36 players and has been allocated one qualifying spot into the national championship. Additionally, two others from this site will be listed as alternates.

 

PRACTICE ROUND: Please call Bakker Crossing Golf Course directly at (605) 368-9700 and identify yourself as a contestant when scheduling your practice round. The official day for a practice round is Sunday, July 16th.

 

CADDIES: Bakker Crossing Golf Course does not employ caddies, though you may provide your own. You may carry your own clubs or use a pull cart. Players must walk at all times during the stipulated round. No motorized carts may be used at the qualifier or the Championship except those approved under the ADA guidelines, which may be found at www.usga.org/champs/ada

 

SPIKE POLICY: Bakker Crossing Golf Course is a spikeless golf club.

 

EQUIPMENT: Please ensure your equipment conforms to the standards established by the United States Golf Association.

  • Clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010

 

ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICES: The use of electronic measuring devices is permitted. This device must measure distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
 

RANGE BALLS: The driving range will open at 6 a.m. Range balls are complimentary.
